Congo Minister spends New Year with young inmates

The Minister of Youth and Civic Education in Republic of the Congo, Anatole Collinet Makosso, spent New Year's day with young offenders in Brazzaville prison and delivered civic education materials to the prison.

Mr Makosso shared a meal with the inmates and discussed with them the daily problems they face.

"I wanted to be with you today because I empathise with you having  to spend the day away from your loved ones. January 1st is the feast that we celebrate together as a family. But, as you find yourselves alone, it must be a difficult time for you. For this reason I decided to join you. I bring a message of hope and comfort so that when you leave here you are new men," said Collinet Makosso.
